William C. McLellan, 78, passed away peacefully Friday November 19, 2010 at the Teresian House surrounded by his family.
William was born in Camden, NY a son of the late Charles and Mary (McCarney) McLellan. Bill proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Walters Chevrolet and Oldsmobile for many years as well as owned and operated a Family Care Home with his beloved wife of 44 years, Janice. Bill and Janice also worked at the family owned bowling alley in Camden earlier in life. He was a more than 50 year member and past Chief of the Camden Volunteer Fire Department. Bill was a very social and outgoing man to all who knew him.
In addition to his devoted wife Janice, he is survived by his daughter Jill McLellan-Phelps (son-in-law Matthew Phelps) of Guilderland, NY, son Christopher McLellan of Newark, NY, brother Robert (Marie) McLellan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward McLellan and sister baby Agnes.
Profound gratitude is extended to the entire Teresian Housing community, especially the 2nd floor caregivers and friends for the way they cared for Bill and filled his days with love and comfort. It was here he made many lasting friends. The family would also like to thank the Stratton VA Medical Center for their exceptional care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11:00 am at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Teresian House. Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
