William J. Clifford, 88, husband of the late Constance Clifford of Niskayuna, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, with his family by his side.
Born May 7, 1935, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late William and Edith Mae (Coy) Clifford.
Bill graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, and later went on to work for New York State in various positions. He and Constance would often visit Las Vegas, enjoying the slots, card tables, and dining out. He was an avid bowler, with two perfect 300 games, 35 years a part; first in 1964 and then again in 1999. Later in life he enjoyed country line dancing with his long-time partner, Mary Duke. Bill was a hard worker, and provided a great example to his five children, especially with his work ethic.
He is survived by his children, Vicky (Phillip) Giello, Susan (Thomas) Bardwell, William Clifford, and Darryl (Reney) Clifford; his grandchildren Courtney (Leigh) Strong, Brittany (Larry) and Tiffany (Matt) Giello; Audra (Jason) Priddle, Erika Bardwell; Chris (Jessica) Cooper, Miranda (Dustin) Cooper, Tyler Clifford, Morgan Clifford; great grandchildren Hayden and Kelsey Strong, Olivia Zinter, Madison and Allyson Priddle, Abigail Rose, and Bodie Cooper, Dawson Cardona; and several nieces and nephews, including Steven Collins, and Cheryl (Tony) Indelicato. He will be especially missed by Mary Duke.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his son Keith D. Clifford.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie
NY 12205. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home prior to interment at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
