Schenectady- William A. Coons "Bill", 58, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Albany, New York on October 22, 1960, William was born to Marlene A. Kellogg (James) and the late Kenneth L. Coons.
Bill had recently enjoyed the celebration of his 40th High School reunion from Voorheesville High School. Bill was an active member of the Moose Lodge 251 of Schenectady, New York. He had dedicated six years of service with the East Worcester Fire Department, a job he loved. Bill was a recipient of the Ptl. William A. Koenige Community Service Award for his heroic act of saving lives from a burning building. His interests were classic cars, motorcycles and the great outdoors. Bill loved to camp, hunt and to spend time on the water. He also enjoyed joking around a good deep laugh, keeping all entertained. He also deeply cherished the special bond he shared with his twin brother.
In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his children, Kayla Cerutti (Gina) and Bryan Coons and their mother Amy Coons. Bill was grandfather to his loving granddaughter, Emma Rockenstyre. Other survivors include, twin brother, Kenneth L. Coons II (Janet), brothers, Lt. Douglas H. Coons and John A. Coons (Lynn) of Keene, NH. Bill was also the proud uncle to, Kenneth L. Bradt, Kelly L. Coons, Nicole A. Carwin, Braeden D. Coons, John D. Coons and Quinn A. Coons. Bill will be missed deeply by his lifetime best friend, Tony Pappas and many other family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189. A memorial service will follow starting at 7:00pm.
