Scotia-William J. Dacey, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Bill was born on June 19, 1933 son of the late Thomas and Florence (Szesnat) Dacey in Albany, NY.
William was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1952-1956. On May 30, 1953 he married his beloved wife, Marjorie Anne (Kemmy) Dacey. Bill's most cherished memories were spending time with his family. Bill was a hard worker and wonderful provider for his family, he worked for Tobin Packing Co., The Orchard Tavern and Walmart. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and doing puzzles. Bill also volunteered at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany and St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. He will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marjorie; his sons, Roy and Shawn and his 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Bill is survived by his children, Kathleen Dacey, Michael Dacey , Florence Dacey Decker, Francis Dacey, Nicole Caisse (Victor), Christina Hans (Dennis); brother, Leo Dacey (Carol) 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 609 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206. Calling hours will be held from 9-10am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY where he will be laid beside his wife.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
