Schenectady- William C. Davis, 80, died on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady. Born in Schenectady he was the son of the late Harold and Esther Davis. William served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was involved in ground combat at the Battle of the Bulge, Ardennes Rhineland in Central Europe. After his military tour William married and raised his family in Schenectady. In his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. William enjoyed sports and was an avid NY Mets fan. He was a member of the Schenectady Stamp Club, and the American Philatelic Society.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Dorothy (Przastek) Davis of Schenectady, his two children; William J. Davis and wife Mary of Schenectady, and Deborah Davis and husband Rev. Daniel Hahn of Loudonville. He is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren; Michelle and Susan Davis, and David, Dierdre, and Deanne Hahn.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March, 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-soouth of Central Ave.). Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Critical Care Unit c/o St. Clare's Hospital Foundation, 600 McClellan Street, Schenectady, NY 12304 in memory William C. Davis.
