Wynantskill- William John Divinsky passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 8, 2017. Bill was born on March 12, 1941 to Stella and Joseph Divinsky. Bill was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School in Albany. He married his wife, Joan, on April 11, 1964 and was her caregiver up until her death in June of 2013.
Bill served in the Army in the 1960's and was stationed in Trenton, NJ. He later worked at Tobin Packing Company, GAF and BASF. He loved to cook, occasionally gamble, and spend time with his dog Bouncer.
If you knew Bill you knew he would always have a joke to tell or a trivia question to ask. His laugh was infectious and it could be heard across the room. Over the past several years he battled many health issues but was able to keep his sense of humor. His larger than life personality will leave a void in all of our lives.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Michelle Gill (Kevin) and Suzanne Divinsky (Bill). He is also survived by his mother-in-law Rose Levanites and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his sister Helen and his brothers Joe and Ed.
A funeral service will be held at 8:45am on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 4pm-7pm.
