William E. Barrett

COLONIE – William Everett Barrett, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late William V. and Helen Barrett. Bill was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving his country for ten years, including two tours in Viet Nam. He worked for Alpine Environmental from where he retired. Bill was proud to serve his country and a very patriotic man. He was an amateur astronomer and enjoyed watching the stars and planets. He also loved his dog "BB". Bill is the beloved and loving husband of Mary R. Barrett. He is the father of Robert and Kim. Bill is the stepfather of Robin Lynn (John) Nedoroscik and Laurel Ann Robinson. He is the grandfather of Nicole, Briana, John, soon to be Logan, Jason, Kari, Stephen and Kevin. He is the brother of Susan Barrett of Lake Mary, FL.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of William E. Barrett.
