William E. Crandall

SCOTIA – William E. Crandall, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2012 after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Ralph and Alida Crandall.
Bill was a resident of Scotia for 32 years. He worked for Acme Markets for 20 years and then retired from P& C Foods after 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, and watching the NY Mets, NY Giants and wrestling.
Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol E. Crandall, and nephew Keith Crandall.
He is survived by his children James W. (Allison) Crandall of Wilson, NC, and Nancy L. (Red) Lucas of Schuylerville, NY; siblings Linda Hitchcock, Arloe Crandall and Gary Crandall; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Canastota, NY. In place of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Joan Nicole Prince Home, 22 Glenview Drive, Scotia, NY 12302-0122 in Bill's name.
