William E. Murphy

William E. Murphy passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 11, 2015 in Albany, NY with family at his side. William, better known as Bill, was born in Albany on November 15, 1927 to Mary (Rooney) Murphy and Harry Murphy. Raised in Albany, Bill graduated from Christian Brothers Academy. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and served in WWII where he was honorably discharged.

A hard working man, Bill worked several jobs in New York as well as in Nevada. After many years in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bill retired and returned to the Albany area, a place he always called his home.

Bill is preceded in death by his siblings and his beloved daughter Laurie (Riley). He will be forever missed by his loving family, his children, Lynn (Ron) Winne, Lea (Roman) Rakoczy, Tim (Maria) Murphy, his grandchildren and much loved great grandson along with his very best friend Mildred Murphy.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 11am at St Clare's Church with burial immediately following at St Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY.
