William E. Surprise

William Ernst Surprise, 75, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late, William and Anna (Paradise) Surprise, he proudly served with the United States Army and worked for over 3 decades at MLB construction and McGrath Industries. Bill loved bird watching, gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by his siblings; Moura McCarthy, Floyd Surprise and Midge LaMorta.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Mary (Campione) Surprise; his cherished daughter, Maria Lisa Surprise; his beloved dachshund, Snuggles and kittens, Gizmo and Schooner. He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Albany Memorial, The Eddy home health care unit and to all of the many doctors that have shown their care and compassion to Bill over the many years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
