GUILDERLAND - William J. Faulkner, 65, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at his home.
Bill was born on September 22, 1955 in Schenectady, son of Robert Faulkner and the late Ellen (Quinn) Faulkner. He was employed with the NYS Legislative Messenger Service for 37 years (1980 - 2017), he started as a messenger and progressed to being a phone coordinator. He was dedicated and hard working, making countless friends.
His sense of humor was loved and treasured by all who knew him. He loved music, movies (all kinds) - his favorites were Barbra Streisand, Elvis and Tom Jones. He attended a Tom Jones "in concert" with his mother and father, Ellen and Robert. He liked to travel, enjoyed restaurants as he was a "foodie", theatre (Broadway and cinemas), reading James Patterson and Stephen King. He followed the Catholic Faith as he was spiritual and attended church regularly. His favorite color was blue. He saved every gift he ever received and knew the whole story behind it. He was overall a "good guy" and a good friend.
In addition to his father, Bill is survived by his cousins, Richelle Scrom, Tracy Reed and Rose Tilden; and his uncle and aunt, John and Victoria Quinn. In addition to his mother, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Ann Faulkner, grandparents, Theresa (Spadaro) and John Quinn and aunt, Joan Patricia Quinn.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held prior from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of William J. Faulkner.
