William E. Fenelon

October 31, 1932 — August 15, 2018

Ballston Spa- William E. Fenelon, son of the late Louis G. Fenelon and Margaret C. Fenelon, born October 31, 1932, in Bay Shore New York and resident of Colonie New York for 57 years prior to moving to the Saratoga area, passed August 15, 2018.

Bill was married for 61 years to the love of his life, Marion, who survives him. Their marriage produced a legacy of three children, Brian C. Fenelon (Donna) of Yorktown VA; Leslie C. Fenelon who pre-deceased her parents in 1994, and David L. Fenelon (Kim) of Bolton Landing NY. In addition, Bill is survived by four grandchildren (Corey Fenelon and Matthew Fenelon of Yorktown VA, Daniel Fenelon and his wife Meghan of Albany NY, and Kylie McFarlane of Bolton Landing NY). He also leaves behind his great granddaughter Aurora Grace McFarlane, and his soon-to-be born great grandson Jackson Daniel Fenelon.

Bill is also survived by his sister, Barbara Peters, of Mariposa California, and her children.

In his early years, Bill served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy, Bill worked for New York Telephone, and then followed his father's footsteps and joined the New York State Police. He was a Trooper for many years, and achieved the rank of Sergeant and Senior Investigator with the BCI. Bill retired from the NYSP after 21 years, and began his second career working for CUNA Mutual Insurance Society as a Risk Management Specialist, eventually retiring for good in 1991.

Bill's passions included camping, fishing, and traveling the world with Marion, but most important was the love he shared with his family. They also wintered in Florida, and developed many deep relationships with friends, too many to mention here.
Bill's love of life, and especially of family, will continue to serve as a role model for his loving family.

The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate care provided to Bill by the staff of Saratoga Hospital and Wesley Community.
The family is choosing to hold a memorial/celebration of Bill's life, at a date and location to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142.
