William D. Gimlick, 81, joined the love of his life Brenda Brennan in Heaven on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Bill was the son of the late Belmont and Marion (Springer) Gimlick. Bill passed with 42 years sobriety.
Bill was a hard-worker and his career included working for the Iron Workers Local Union No. 12 and assisted in the building of the Empire State Plaza and the Dunn Memorial Bridge. Bill worked driving truck for the Salvation Army and retired from hauling scrap metal for SIMS Metal (formally Shibo-Hudson) in the Port of Albany.
Bill enjoyed fishing and could often be found fishing on local lakes in his row boat.
He is preceded in death by his sister Sharon Spain of Florida. Survivors include his 3 daughters Alisha-Ann (Dave) Robillard, Tara (Lisa) Burke-Muscatello and Margaret Sullivan; brother David Gimlick; sisters Donna (Barry) Shatney, Hertha (Marty) Beverwyk and Dorothy (Sky) Borst and brother-in-law Kevin Spain. Bill was a loving Pop Pop to his 2 grandchildren Christopher Gongoleski and Kairi Robillard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his dear friends Ken & Gloria Manly and Marlene Rogers.
Friends and family are invited to jouin us for visition hours on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1 - 3 pm with a Celebration of Life at 3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals,181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY
