William Grimm, Sr.

COLONIE – William J. Grimm Sr, 87, formerly of Wilber Ave, Colonie passed away on Friday October 20, 2006 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Colonie and was the son of the late August and Anna Marie Peters Grimm.
Mr. Grimm drove tractor trailer for numerous companies throughout the region. He retired from Penn Central Transport several years ago. He was a longtime member of Local 294 and had served as shop steward with several trucking firms. Bill enjoyed hunting, reading, western movies, carpentry, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was predeceased in 2003 by his wife Maria Ferrara Grimm.
He is the beloved father of Anna Marie Locke and her husband David of Halfmoon, William J. Grimm Jr. and his wife Mary of Delanson and Loretta C. Grrimm and her husband Jim Parent of Hampton, NH. He is the brother of Robert A.. Grimm Sr. and the late Lincoln C. Grimm. He is the cherished grandfather of Deborah Locke, Lisa Hood, William J. Grimm III and Jennifer Grimm. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:15 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Paul the Apostle Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Colonie Emergency Medical Services, 312 Wolf Rd.
