Colonie- William H. Ziegler passed away October 15th 2015 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing home in Troy. He was born July 17th, 1923 to the late James and Mildred Ziegler.
William is predeceased by his wives Audrey Crowther-Ziegler and Petronella Ziegler.
Bill was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and then attended Hudson Valley Community College. During his earlier years Bill served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Bill holds several US and Canadian military patents. He was also a licensed Hamm Radio Operator. Bill also enjoyed building and flying experimental aircraft & he was an accomplished videographer and founder of "Poodle Pup Productions."
Bill worked for the Watervliet Arsenal as a mechanical engineer for 30 years. After retiring he worked for MTI.
He is survived by his three sons; William "Billy" Ziegler, Ronald "Ron" Ziegler, Scott (Janet) Ziegler. Bill is also survived by his sister Margaret (Richard) Kelley as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bill is predeceased by his siblings; James and Madeline. He is also predeceased by his beloved dog "Mindy Sue."
Calling hours will be held Monday, October 19th 2015 from 10:00am-12:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the callings starting at 12:00pm. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
