William J. Haggart

Colonie- William "Boats" J. Haggart Jr.,94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Born in Gloversville, he was the son of the late Marion and William J. Haggart. Boats is predeceased by his late wife Dorothy Haggart.

Boats was a proud United States veteran serving in the Navy. He was certified deep-sea diver. He worked for LP Transportation in Selkirk as a truck driver and shop steward before his retirement. He was a volunteer firefighter with multiple firehouses in Colonie holding leadership positions.

Boats is survived by his seven children, Lorelei Notro (William), Mary Frehulfer (Robert), William W. Haggart, John F. Haggart, Amy Almy, Rebecca Sirigiano (Charles) and Thomas Haggart. He will also be missed by his 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

With Saratoga National only allowing few flower pieces, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the USS Slater Museum Ship, Albany, NY.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be held on Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
