William C. Ingersoll,"Ingy", 75, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2024, at St.Peter's Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
William was born December 21,1948. He was the son of the late Arthur M. Ingersoll and Helen C. (Madlin) Ingersoll.
William was a graduate of Albany High School. At the age of 19, William was drafted into the Army and served a year of active duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969. After being discharged. from the army, William obtained a job at NYS OGS as a Stationary Engineer, and would eventually retire in 2005. In William's spare time he enjoyed reading books, doing crossword puzzles, watching Nascar, baseball (Yankees) and his Favorite football team, the Giants.
William is survived by his love and life partner, Carolyn Bittner of Colonie; Daughter, Deanna Cipollo (Larry); Granddaughters, Breanna Cipollo (Evan) and Olivia Cipollo (Michelle); Sisters, Bonnie DeMare (Robert) of Colonie, Janice Lee of North Carolina; Brothers, Arthur Ingersoll of Clifton Park, Robert Ingersoll of Georgia, John Ingersoll (Laurie) of Colonie, and Mark Ingersoll of Colonie; as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4PM-6PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9AM on Friday, March 15th at Blessed Sacrament Church, 407 Central Ave., Albany, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Peter's ICU for their dedication and kindness during their time of need.
