William J. Cook, Sr., 82, joined his beloved wife and best friend Linda Ann Cook in eternal life on October 10, 2013 at Evergreen Commons with his family by his side. Bill was born July 7, 1931 in Albany to the late Stanley Cook and Margaret (Quinn) McLaren. He was employed with Sears for more than 15 years from 1966 to 1981 and was a self employed Electrician. Bill was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #2480 in Guilderland.
Bill loved camping with his wife Linda, hunting with his sons, was a life member of the NRA, a member of the American Legion, and cherished his time with his eleven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded by his loving wife and travel companion for more than 44 years, Linda (O'Hare) Cook.
He is survived by his beloved children, Darlene (Jim) Blauvelt, Keith (Kathy) Cook, William Cook Jr., Peggy Cook, Brian (Christina) Cook, and Sandra (Mark) Nystoriak. He is the adored grandfather of Zach, Michael, Alex, Lindsay, Nicole, Dylan, Stephanie, Angelica, Zander, Nicholas and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Biesele and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
