LOUDONVILLE – William J. Klein, 82, of Loudonville, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late William and Beatrice Miller Klein.
Bill served in the US Air Force from 1948 through 1952 and was involved with the design of the B52 as a flight engineer. Bill owned and operated his own cab service and more recently, he was a bus driver for CDTA in Albany. Bill also worked as the grounds superintendent at Pheasant Hollow Golf Course. He enjoyed reading, sports, New York Yankees and spending time with his cherished family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patsy Ann Klein, his siblings, Mary Lombardo, Beatrice Westervelt , Francis and Joseph Klein.
Bill is the beloved husband of Barbara Klein. He is the devoted father of Scott (Barbara) Klein, Dirk (Barbara) Klein, Melissa (William) Adams, Shannon (James) Cirilli and Stacey (Tony) McLea. He is the brother of Virginia Clow and Margaret (Dominic) Crupi. Bill is the cherished grandfather of Eric, Katelyn, Jason, Kimberli, Dana, Matthew, Courtney, Taylor, Jamie, Jessica, Jordan, Jenna and Anthony. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Bill's family would like to recognize and thank Aunt Virginia and her daughter Denise for all of their wonderful assistance and heartfelt care.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A service in celebration of Bill's life will be offered at 7pm on Wednesday evening. Interment will be in Our Lady, Help of Christian Cemetery, Glenmont.
