ROTTERDAM – William J. Knizek, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
William was born on October 20, 1922 in Guilderland and was the son of the late William and Katerina Brecka Knizek. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946, attaining the rank of Storekeeper D, 2nd class. He worked as an iron worker at General Electric in Schenectady for 40 years.
William is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alice O. (McNitt) Knizek; his sons, Thomas J. Knizek and Alan M. (Jane) Knizek; his grandsons, Jonathan Marx and Bryan Knizek; his sister-in-law, Beverly (George) Noxon and several cousins.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
Arrangements being handled by New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home in Colonie.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of William J. Knizek.
