William J. Perone, Sr.

William J. (Moe) Perone, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan 08, 2013 at Community Hospice Inn with his family by his side. He was born in Avis, PA to the late Joseph and Amelia (Cafasso) Pirone. William retired as a Traffic Engineer with the Albany Police Department, and was known as the first "boot man." William was an avid bowler and loved to spend time with his family. In addition to his parents William was predeceased by his daughter Jeanne.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Mary Lorraine Perone; his children, Bill (Diane), Dave (Denise), Mary, Paul (Beverly), James and Lee, his son-in-law Garry. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 in William's memory.

Funeral service for William will be Saturday at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
