William M. Kot, Sr.
March 11, 1929 — January 23, 2019
ALBANY- William M. Kot, Sr., 89, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehab.
William was born in Albany, and lived there all his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years owning his own carpet business. Bill enjoyed golf, camping and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Charlotte Kot; son-in-law, Vincent Scattareggia; and his brother Jim Kot.
Bill is survived by his children, William M. Kot, Jr. (Mary Anne) of Schenectady, Charlene Gifford (Glenn) of American Fork, Utah, and Pamella Scattareggia of Albany; his grandchildren, Christopher Kot (Melody), Jennifer Pena (Javier), Benjamin Gifford (Rachel), Bryon Gifford (Sarah), Sarah, Lauren, Marc and Gavin Gifford, and Joshua and Amber Scattareggia; her great-grandchildren Lucas, Arabella, and Axel Kot; Carlee and Alex Gifford, and Cody Yamacuchi; sister, Bernice Pavone (Joe), and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 7:00pm. Calling hours will be held from 4-7:00pm prior to services. Interment will private at Albany Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the education of his grandchildren c/o Pamella Scattareggia.
