William Meyl

LONGMEADOW, MA – William Patrick Meyl, 56, formerly of Guilderland, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late George and Jane Meyl. Will had a distinguished 32 year career in broadcasting. He was the former General Manager of WXXA of Albany, WABU of Boston and WGGB in Springfield. He was the recipient of numerous humanitarian awards. Will is the beloved husband of Mary (Essary) Meyl. He is the devoted father of Melissa, Nathan and Caitlin and the proud grandfather of John Patrick Delehanty. He is the loving brother of Michael (Connie) Meyl, Linda (Jack) Murphy and Brian (Diane) Meyl. He is the uncle of David and Daniel Meyl, Sean and Ryan Murphy and Megan and Lindsey Meyl. He is the cherished son-in-law of Beverly Essary and brother-in-law of Deborah (Daniel) Pafundi. Also surviving are four great-nieces and five great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
