LATHAM – William N. Sugrue, 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the Albany Memorial Hospital.
William was born on July 19, 1943 in Albany and was the son of the late Norman and Dorothy Brockley Sugrue. He graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and attended HVCC.
William worked for over 34 years for the US Postal Service. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church and the Holy Name Society, and Mended Hearts Chapter 13.
William is survived by his wife of 38 years, Maureen R. (Sinnott) Sugrue; his sons, Paul and Brian Sugrue; his grandson, Aaron Sugrue; his sisters, Anne McTavey and her husband John and Dorothy Metzger and her husband Malcolm; his sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Sinnott, Kathleen Shepard and Elizabeth Duncan; his brother-in-law, Patrick Sinnott and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
