William R. Leggett

December 22, 1941 — June 30, 2014

Westerlo – William R. "Billy" Leggett, "Black Jack", 72, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany he is the son of the late Norma (Hewitt) and William Leggett.
Bill proudly and courageously served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Viet Nam War. He was also an active member of the Leatherneck Motorcycle Club and also belonged to many other clubs and organizations in the community. Bill was a truck driver for more than 35 years before retiring.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his daughter Debbie McCann.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Donna Leggett; his daughter Cindy (Allen) Rogers; his grandchildren, David Daniels, Dillan McCann, Danielle Hubbard and Sierra Hubbard; and his sister Darlene "Penny" (Brian) Jerry. He will be missed.
A celebration of life for William will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Guilderland Elks Lodge, 3867 Carmen Rd., Schenectady, NY.
