COLONIE, NY – William R. Longobardi of Colonie, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Schenectady and lived in Colonie for over 53 years. Mr. Longobardi was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II in four major battles. He retired from O.D. Heck Developmental Center and was a long time member of the Schenectady Painter's Union. Bill was a communicant of St. Clare's Church, a member of the Schenectady Ole Timers Baseball Club and a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. Bill is the beloved husband of Rosemary Longobardi. He is the devoted father of William C. (Karen) Longobardi and Susan (Russell) Myers. He is the cherished grandfather of Chelsea Myers and Cara and Will Longobardi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Clare's Church, Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of William R. Longobardi.
