ALBANY- William R. Sokol, 61, beloved father and friend, died Monday June 2, 2008 at St. Peters Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
William Robert Sokol was born April 15, 1947 in Johnson City, NY and is the son of the late William and Gertrude Sokol. Bill was a graduate of Cornell and Binghamton Universities. He dedicated his life to working in government and spent over twenty five years working for the National Credit Union Association. Bill enjoyed spending his time involved in all things Grandchild related, solving crossword puzzles, reading and arguing politics with his two sons.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Daniel and Matthew; his daughter Nicole Castler and her husband Jeffrey; and two loving grandchildren Luke and Tyler.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd.
