WYNANTSKILL - William A. Rozell, Jr. (Billy), passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, September 24th while on vacation at Walt Disney World, his favorite place in the whole world.
Born September 25th, 1982, in Albany, NY, Billy is survived by his loving parents, William
Rozell, Sr. and Paula Rozell, as well as his younger brother and best friend, Joseph M. Rozell,
MD, (Joshua Zullo). He is also survived by his "brother from another mother," Peter Gorman
(Jennifer), their son (Billy's Godson) little Pete, and their daughter Morgan. He is also survived
by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a vast amount of caring and
cherished friends.
He is predeceased by his grandmother, Theresa Rozell, grandfather, Barry Dyer, grandmother,
Beverly Dyer, and his uncle, Mark E. Rozell.
Billy had a wonderful career as a managerial IT specialist for the Best Western Hotel
Corporation. Not only did he absolutely love his job and excelled at whatever challenge was
ever presented before him, but was also surrounded by wonderful co-workers and
team-members who provided an engaging environment of camaraderie, friendship, and an
overall feeling of companionship.
Previously, he worked at the BDO Orlando, Albany Public Library, and Albany Medical Center.
He also worked and studied at the University at Albany SUNY where he earned a Master's
Degree of Library Science.
All are welcome to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at
New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Thursday, October 5th at 9:30 AM in All Saints Catholic Church, 16
Homestead St, Albany, NY. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3rd Ave Ext., Rensselaer, NY.
Billy was a strong companion and lover to all animals, having had many caring animal
companions throughout his life. In his honor, donations are welcome and can be made to the
Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (www.mohawkhumane.org/donate).
