William Sarantopoulos

SELKIRK- William Sarantopoulos, 75, of Selkirk, passed away on Tuesday May 3, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Johnson City, NY and was the son of the late James and Bessie Sarantopoulos. He was a graduate of the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome. Bill had worked for many years at General Electric in Waterford, retiring in 1990. He was predeceased by twin infant sons, George and Peter and his brothers Anthony and John Sarantopoulos.
He is the beloved husband of fifty years to Vivian Sarantopoulos. He is the cherished father of Sherry Stanton (Robert) of Selkirk. He is the grandfather of William Stanton (Kim) of Loudonville, Christopher Stanton (Michelle) Seattle, WA., Todd Stanton (Rebecca) of Loudonville, Jeremy Stanton (Tracy) of Jacksonville, NC and Jessica Stanton of Selkirk. He is the great grandfather of Haley, Raidon, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Austin and Gage. He is the brother of Peter Sarantopoulos (Geraldine) and George Sarantopoulos (Rose) and brother in law of Frances Sarantopoulos. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:30 at New Comer- Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt-155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 21 Hackett Blvd. Albany at 11:30 where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Selkirk.
