Schenectady- Dr. William P. Schlansker passed away on April 1, 2018 at the age of 98.
Bill was born on May 26, 1919 in Schenectady to Paul A. and Julia Schlansker. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and attended St. Bonaventure College, after which he attended Tufts University Dental School, receiving his DDS . During World War II he served as a Captain with the Army Dental Corp and after his discharge he es-tablished a dental practice in Schenectady where he practiced until his retirement.
He was a member of the Schenectady County Dental Society, the Pierre Fouchard So-ciety and a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity, the International College of Dentists, and the American Association of Dental Exam-iners. He was an examiner for the New York State Board of Regents, and for the Northeast Regional Board of Dentists. He was a congregant of St. Stephan's Episcopal Church.
Predeceased by his son Paul, he is survived by his wife Janet and his children William (Madelyn), James (Judith), Joan (Glenn) and Richard, his10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
