NISKAYUNA – William S. Shallcross, 78, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007. Born in Manhattan, NY he was the son of the late James and Virginia Shallcross. Mr. Shallcross was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War. Bill was a well known radio personality for WALK in Long Island and locally for WROW and WABY. He was active with the Arthritis Foundation and the National Association for the Blind as well as other charitable organizations. Bill was an avid sportsman in his youth. He enjoyed all music and watching football. He especially enjoyed spending time with this family and grandchildren. Bill was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late RoseMarie E. Shallcross. He is the devoted father of Barbara Lee Slater and her husband, James Robert of Niskayuna and RoseMarie Torossian and her husband, Alexander of Latham. He is the cherished grandfather of Brian James Slater, Erin Lee Slater, Devin William Torossian and Morgan Elizabeth Torossian. Also surviving are many much loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the services from 10:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern New York Chapter, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of William S.
