ALBANY- William Edward Swann Sr., 80, of Albany, passed peacefully on Friday evening July 20, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital Hospice.
He was born in Albany on January 22, 1927 and was the son of the late Kenneth and Ida Anthony Swann. He was a US Army veteran and had retired from Red Star Express Trucking.
William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lillian R. Swann of Albany; a son William E. Swann Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Winooski, VT. He is the grandfather of Serena Swann Townes of Anderson, SC. Kristen and Chynna Swann of Winooski, VT. Great grandfather of Christopher and Chloe. He is the beloved brother of Roy (Ida) Swann of Albany, Vincent Swann of Chicago, IL, Harriet Swann of Albany, Eva Powell, and Grace Epperson both of Schenectady, Iola (Ernest) Henderson of Colonie and the late Kenneth and Milton Swann. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to thank the staff at Albany Memorial Hospital and Community Hospice of Albany for the wonderful care William received during his illness.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
