DELMAR – William T. Henry, Jr., 50, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born on July 2, 1959 in Albany and is the son of Ruth E. Conlyn and the late William T. Henry. He served in the US Navy from 1979-1982, after which he went to work for Metro North in Grand Central Station, New York City, but returned home to Albany in 1985 where he took a position as Building & Grounds Supervisor for the Northeastern Assoc of the Blind. It was here that he met the love of his life, Debbie, whom he married February 18, 1989. Bill went back to school at HVCC where he earned his Associate's Degree, majoring in English and Psychology. After buying a home in Delmar, his cherished children, Kaitlin Marie and Ryan Christopher, were born in 1991 and 1992. Bill took a position at SUNYA and worked his way up to Plant Utilities Engineer, developing respect and friendship from his coworkers and supervisor.
In addition to his beloved wife of 21 years, Deborah (Burkins), Bill is survived by his daughter, Kaitlin, and son, Ryan, of Delmar, his mother, Ruth Conlyn of Colonie, his wonderful loving stepmother, Phyllis Henry of Troy, his brothers, David Henry (Maria) of Sarasota, FL, Wayne Schillinger (Chris) of Cropseyville, NY, Myles Schillinger (Joan) of Saugerties, NY, Earl Schillinger (Karen) of Rochester, NY, and sister, Arlene Plunkett (Chuck) of Averill Park, NY. In addition to his father, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Schillinger. Bill also leaves his brothers-in-law, Glenn Burkins (Ema) of Arlington, WA, Wayne Burkins of Arlington, WA, Keith Burkins (Noelle) of Colonie, NY, and Kevin Burkins of Latham, NY, and sister-in-law, Cynthia Burkins of Kill Devil Hills, NC. Bill was endowed with many nieces, including his sweet little Megan, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga Nation Cemetery.
