William B. Templer, Sr.
November 3, 1941 — October 21, 2023
SCHENECTADY- William B. Templer, Sr., age 81, was called home peacefully to God's arms on October 21, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.
He was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Benjamin and Ruth Templer. He was also predeceased by his wife Sharon and his son William Templer Jr.
Bill was a lifelong Schenectady resident, working at Campbell Plastics, prior to spending 30 years as a Machinist at General Electric.
In his early years, Bill enjoyed duck hunting with friends in Vischer Ferry. He was also a lifelong railroad enthusiast frequenting many NRHS/Amtrak trips with his children. He loved cats, wildlife documentaries and exploring natural areas around the region. As a crafty man, Bill also worked on numerous projects throughout his retirement. His perfect day would be taking a car ride and enjoying a dinner out with his family.
He is survived by his children: Justin, Jeremy, Bob and Theresa; brother John F. Templer; grandchildren: Joseph, Randi, Robby, Nathan, Bryce and Brianna. Also survived by great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Friday October 27, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his service following at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the APF, 53 Maple Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12302.
