COLONIE – William H. Traeger, 78, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at St. Peter's Hospital.
William was born on December 24, 1926 in Albany and was the son of the late Christopher and Anna Smultz Traeger. He served in the US Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Yeoman 3rd. Class.
William was a printer for over 38 years before retiring in 1992. He first worked for Williams Press in Menands and then went to work at Clarity Publishing Company in Albany. He was a member of the CWA/ITU Union and the American Legion Ambrose Scully Post #1019. He also enjoyed bowling, taking trips and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid Boston Celtics and Red Sox fan.
William is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anne G. (Bradley) Traeger; his daughter, Christine A. (William) Zoller; his stepson, Stanley E. Brizzie; his brother, John Traeger; his grandchildren, Geoffrey and Jacqueline Zoller and Summer Brizzie; his niece, Amanda and his nephew Sean. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Traeger.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of William H. Traeger.
