ALBANY, NY – William V. Beattie, 74, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William and Catherine Beattie. He lived in Albany for all of his life. Mr. Beattie worked for Georgia Pacific Paper Company from where he retired. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed spending time at the ocean and especially loved camping with his family in Salisbury Beach, MA. Bill is the beloved husband of 55 years to Patricia (Fliegel) Beattie. He is the devoted father of Deborah (William) St. Louis, William (Martha) Beattie and Victor (Sue) Beattie. He is the cherished grandfather of Heather and Michael St. Louis and Stephen Beattie. Also surviving are his loving great-grandchildren, Jade, Sierra and Christian St. Louis. Bill's family would like to thank St. Peter's Hospital ER and ICU staff, as well as Dr.'s Gort, Greenhouse, Shea and Gerety for all of the kindness and care they gave to Bill.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary Church), Albany. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (RT. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
