ALBANY, NY – William V. Falco, 92, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Mechanicville, NY. Mr. Falco was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Midway. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1988. Bill liked spending time with his friends at the Adult Day Program at the Veteran's Hospital, and also liked to read old books and collect old things. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at their camp on Lake George. Bill is the beloved husband of 56 years to Rose P. Falco. He is the devoted father of Ann Marie Giardenelli and her husband Daniel and the late William J. Falco. He is the loving brother of Anthony Falco, Nancy Waldron and the late Anna Faroni, Mary DeCerce, Carmina Lucarelli and Rose Christopher. He is the cherished grandfather of Tara Giardenelli, Sarah Uthman and Annie and Abby Giardenelli. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Eye Bank at Albany, 6 Executive Park Dr., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of William V. Falco.
