William Walter Loughlin

EAST GREENBUSH – William Walter Loughlin, 57, was called home early in his life on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born on November 27, 1955 in Albany, NY to William F. Loughlin Jr. and Rita G. (Miaski Loughlin) Buhl. Walter resided in New York and Massachusetts. He attended Columbia High in East Greenbush and then served in the United States Air Force at Maguire Air Force base in New Jersey. Walter worked as a mechanic for the City of Albany, Dept. of General Services. Walter was a sportsman. He enjoyed family picnics at the tree farm, being in the woods hunting, on the lake fishing and bowling with his friends.


In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, William F. and Ruth (Weaver) Loughlin Sr. and Anson W. and Helen (Leavenworth) Miaski as well as his uncle, Herman W. Miaski and his aunt, Vera (Miaski) Fowler. Walter is survived by his mother, Rita G. Buhl; his daughters, Jamie Greenwood and Jennifer and Jessica Loughlin; his granddaughter Mackenzie Stroh and three sisters, Rita Loughlin (Paul) Maguire, Rebecca Buhl (Heath) Freidel and Roberta Buhl Kenney. He is the nephew of E. Walter Miaski, Lois Clifford, Barbara Miaski and Sharon Evans and uncle to Anson (Kristen) Miaski, Mary Beth Clifford, Nancy (Donald) Hay, Beth (John) Cipperly, Lori (James) Bloomer, Judy and Lisa Fowler, Jami (Thomas) Ortung, Sean (Amie) Maguire, Shannon Maguire, Betsy (Joseph) Crandall and Rusty Bliven. He is the grand-uncle of Riley and Grayson Freidel, Emily and Jack Maguire and Maxim Munzert. Also surviving are his special friends, Brian, Bobby, Johnny and Liz.


Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. There will be no calling hours. The family requests that there be no flowers, instead contributions to Mrs. Rita Buhl in c/o the funeral home would be appreciated to help with funeral expenses.
