Willie T. Stancil, Jr, 69, of Albany, NY transitioned on March 11th, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 15, 1951, in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Willie T. Stancil, Sr. and Nancy C. Stancil. He was the loving father of Octavia M. Stancil, mother of his grandson Jeremiah D. Dickenson, who was one of his greatest joys, often spending hours after school on the telephone with him talking about his day.
Willie attended Linton High School, after graduating Linton High School he worked at General Electric before following his father's footsteps of becoming a barber at the well-known family owned establishment, Stancil Barber Shop. Willie ultimately retired his clippers. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed photography and providing people with good entertainment as a DJ. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching movies, especially Sci-Fi, a good conversation, family, and an evening drink of Johnny Walker.
He is survived by his mother Nancy C. Stancil, his daughter Octavia M. Stancil, grandson Jeremiah D. Dickenson, siblings, Teresa C. Stancil, Reginald J. Stancil Sr, and nieces and nephews, Guy T. Grant, Shanaya M. Stancil, Kayla L. Stancil, Reginald J. Stancil Jr, Anyee K. Stancil, Meeko J. Stancil, Mayling W. Stancil, Evander Stancil and Perseus Stancil.
Our family would like to thank all of his friends and extended family for the love and compassion they demonstrated to Willie throughout his lifetime.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, visitation 10am - 12pm. Services begin promptly at 12pm (Noon). We ask that those attending services follow all current CDC Covid-19 procedures including wearing a mask throughout the duration of the services.
In lieu of flowers the family humbly requests monetary donations to ensure that our beloved Willie T. Stancil Jr is memorialized with the dignity and honor he gained throughout his life by way of scholarship for his grandson Jeremiah, as he continues his educational journey.
