ALBANY-Wilton Landy, 72 entered into eternal life on July 27, 2016.
He was born on March 28, 1944 to late Henderson and Lonnie (Cadle) Landy in Wagner S.C.
Wilton retired from the State University of New York College of Albany after 30 years of service. After he retired he worked at Teresian House Nursing Home as security.
Wilton was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was affectionately known as "BaeBae" to those who were closest to him. He loved to listen to country music and fish. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Wilton was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone in need. He selflessly gave his help without expecting anything in return. He had many friends and will be very dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him.
Wilton is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Theresa Landy; daughters, Stephanie Stinney, Valerie (Willi) Landy; brothers, John (Beverly) Landy, Deacon Klenton (Denise) Landy, Sr., Clint (Dorothy)Landy; sisters, Henrietta Hines, Ida Mae Stealy, Inez Cade; grandchildren, Shaquira, Bianca, Keyhana, Tatiana, Xavier and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, Henderson Landy, Jr., Joseph Landy, Luther Landy and his sisters, Esther Ann Patterson and Catherine Landy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 9-11am at New Comer Funeral Home. Home going services to celebrate Wilton's life will begin at 11am on Tuesday at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
