COLONIE-Yuk Ying Lin, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2021.
She was born October 16, 1928 in Hong Kong.
She married Louis To Man Lin in 1948, and together they lived happily in Hong Kong as proprietors of a local restaurant while raising their four children. After years of diligence and dedication, they had saved enough to achieve their dream of relocating to the United States to make a better life for their children, immigrating in 1963. Yuk Ying initially worked as a seamstress in California where she was commended for her skill and strong work ethic. They eventually settled in Colonie, NY, where they owned Lin's King of King's Restaurant for 20 years before retiring in 1986. Always putting her family first, Yuk Ying will be remembered for her selflessness, generosity, sense of humor, conciliatory and forgiving nature, and love of her family.
Yuk Ying was predeceased by her husband, Louis, and brother, Wah Young.
Surviving are her children, Andrew Lin, Theresa Tsui (Adrian), Rose Fennessey (Chuck), Peter Lin (Su); grandchildren, Maximilian Tsui, Benjamin Tsui, Stephen Tsui, Leigh Galioto (Steven), Paul Fennessey, Samantha Fennessey, Jennifer Lin (Corey), Michael Lin; great grandchildren, Madeline and Elizabeth.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, memorial services will be held privately.
