LATHAM, NY – Yun-Yu Hsueh-Huang, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Prospect Nursing Home in Bennington, VT. Born in Wenshou Zhejin, China, she worked as a teacher in China and Singapore for thirty years prior to emigrating to the United States in the early 1970's. Shortly thereafter, her husband, Chuan-Keng Huang died in Taiwan after a brief battle with cancer. Yun-Yu in her free time enjoyed reading, cooking, knitting and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Kuan-Ying Hsueh in 2007. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Tim and her two granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Watson House and Prospect Nursing Home in Bennington, VT for their compassion, support and the overall wonderful care given.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
