Rexford -
Yvonne A. Spring of Rexford left us here on earth after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family, on January 1, 2021. She was born in Niskayuna, New York and was the only child of George and Eva Falconer. She was 86 years old and a longtime member of Alplaus UMC.
Yvonne spent over 50 years as a bus driver for Shenedehowa schools and was one of the first female drivers with the district. Upon her retirement, she continued to give back to the community, driving for Colburg Village on a part time basis. Yvonne loved to cook, garden, crochet and paint. Most of all, Yvonne loved spending time with her family, particularly her six grandchildren who meant the world to her. She was a gentle, kind, empathetic, compassionate and generous woman - always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and always willing to take in and rescue a stray.
Yvonne was predeceased by both her husband, Barry L. Spring in 2004, and son, Terry L. Spring in 1994.
Yvonne is survived by her children, Kathleen Spring of Saratoga; Suzanne Perry of Ballston Spa and Timothy Spring (Sharon) of North Andover, MA and six grandchildren, Madison and Michaelah Townley; Alexandria Perry; and Jaimes, Michael and Julian Spring.
Yvonne woke up each day with a smile and a positive outlook, even when things were challenging.
While Yvonne's passing will leave a hole in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her, we will forever be blessed by the memory of her wit, warmth, good nature, strength and hallmark laugh, which will serve as an inspiration and model for all of those whose life she touched.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Saratoga Hospital Emergency Room (Dr. Wilen, Heather, Cameron and Vincent) for their extraordinary kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to CAPP at 279 Troy Rd., Alzheimer's Association of NE New York, Albany or Support Ministries of Waterford, NY.
Services will be private in order to facilitate the safety of everyone due to the uncertainty of the times. Masks must be worn both inside and outside our chapels and social distancing followed.
Interment will take place in the Spring at Jonesville Cemetery, Clifton Park.
