ALBANY - Zaiga Mary Puspurs, 73, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2007, at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Zaiga was born on April 6, 1934 in Riga, Latvia and was the daughter of the late Rudolf and Wilma (Akmentin) Balodis. She started working for the Albany Savings Bank (now known as Albank) in 1986 and retired as a commitment letter clerk in 1999. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, spending time with her family and she loved to dance. She was a very spirited person, loved life and was a beautiful lady that loved the beach.
Zaiga is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gunars Puspurs; her devoted children, Ingrid E. (David) Peeney, Linda A. Alexander and John G. Puspurs; and her cherished grandsons, Michael and Bryan Puspurs. She was predeceased by her grandson, Sean Alexander.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
