COLONIE – Zylphia Kendall Lassell, 99, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at The Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy.
Zylphia was born on August 2, 1906 in Herkimer, NY and was the daughter of the late Robert and Ida Morey Cromwell. She graduated form NYS Teachers College in 1928 with a BA in English. She was a librarian for the Albany Public Library for 19 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Daughters of the Union. She was also a master genealogist.
Zylphia is survived by her children, Virginia Davey, Robert (Ellinore) Kendall, George R. Kendall, Jr., Katherine (Robert) Johnson and Annette Louise Kendall, a foster daughter, Norrinne Kendall, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, George R. Kendall, Sr. and Lester Lassell and a sister, Marilla Feldbrugge.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 411 Loudon Road, Loudonville. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Albany. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
