Mary M. Poulin, 89, wife of the late Edward G. Poulin Sr. of Voorheesville, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Born on January 1, 1935, in Pittsfield, MA, she was Berkshire County’s Baby New Year. She was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Sr. and Leonore (Rodgers) Spazioso.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and became an RN after graduating from nursing school in Boston. She worked at St. Luke’s and Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield before moving to NY where she worked as a charge nurse at Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home before retiring.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to read, do puzzles, her newspaper, shopping, soap operas and especially hosting monthly get-togethers with family. She also looked forward to her weekly visits from her “gentleman caller,” great grandson Hunter, now 14 month’s old.

She is survived by daughters Nanciellen Poulin of Pittsfield, Julie Poulin of Albany, Wendy (Bruce) Halsdorf of Altamont, Laurie Poulin of Schaghticoke, Mary Beth (David) Noble of Albany; her grandchildren Leah (Zack) Palmer, Julie (John) Halsdorf-Ryan, Jessica (Brendan) Horan, Justin Prescott, Thomas (Stephanie) Cook, and Kali Noble; her great grandchildren Joshua and Jonah Cook and Hunter Ryan; her brothers Anthony Jr. and David (Eileen) Spazioso; also many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Edward Jr.; her son-in-law Torry Prescott; her sisters Judith (Allan) Hoskeer and Sandra Spazioso; sister-in-law Mary Spazioso, and her husband’s siblings Marion Fischer, Andrew Poulin, Elizabeth Rosso, William Poulin, Helen DeBonis and Margaret Bartini.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors of 5 McAuley at St. Peter’s Hospital as well as the Hospice workers who were a great source of help and comfort to all of us during this time.

At the request of the family, services will be private. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Glenmont.
