COLONIE – Victor B. Foegtli, 82, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009. He was the son of the late Louis and Josephine Foegtli. Vic was born in Colonie and lived and ran his business in Colonie for all of his life. He earned his way for 65 years dealing and working closely with farm and produce merchants. Vic had a passion for animals, especially horses. He bred and raised Trotters. Vic enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the western United States with Albert Miller and his wife of New Baltimore. In addition to his parents, Vic was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Hagy and William T. “Billy” Hourigan. He is survived by extended family and friends: Joan Hagy, Terry Kennedy, George Mariani, Richard Hatfield, Tom LaDuke, Anita and Arthur Martin, Tammy Marsh, William and Nancy Webb, Don Swartz, Joe Canfield. Fred Friebel, Steve Sforza, Michael and Linda Hourigan, Sr., the Hourigan Family, and many other friends and business associates. Also surviving is his faithful canine companion, Mitzi, III.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Victor B. Foegtli.
